That's the trick now, ain't it? Knowing what you are doin, I mean...

When it comes to Chinese Pandas, well... a lot of reason to be skeptical.

I'm pretty sure that is all shallow_explorer was trying to point out...

That looks to be very nice, maybe one of the best. I collect Pandas but don't invest in them any more. They are definitely one of the prettiest coin series.

Somebody must like them otherwise they wouldn't carry that premium.

Tom, what was the difference for you between collecting and investing in them?

No offfense meant, and yes it is a beautiful coin, especially when Tom's the photographer.

Sorry, been out in the Gulf of Mexico all day fishing.

The difference is quantity and intent. For collecting, I have a couple from each year and never intend to sell them, they are my private collection to have and hold (to coin a phrase or praise a coin). For investing, I'll buy a quantity with eventual sales in mind. I've got multiple sheets of several years of the Pandas that I bought before it became apparent to me that the counterfeiting was bad enough to be a detriment to the future value of the series. I'm not worried about getting caught by counterfeits personally because I've seen enough of them to know what to look for.

But personally I really enjoy the series.

About the 1st of the year according to some ebay auctions.

I got an e-mail from Panda America, the official importer, that they are available. I actually live close to their office, so maybe I'll take a drive over there. My daughter likes the Panda coins, and I have a lot more confidence buying right from the source.

Good looking coins.
